  1. What was the "belief" about trade in the seventeenth century that led to wars between the major trading states? Explain.
  2. Why was conflict inevitable between the Dutch and the English?
  3. Why were the Dutch a threat to the French?
  4. List what led to the Dutch decline as the world's #1 trading power.
